finished product.

and without further adieu, i give you a watercolor portrait of my family.

the olsens:

i see about 10 million mistakes, but seeing as this was my first time picking up a paintbrush or sketching in my book for over 5 years, i'm happy with it. it's also a portrait of my favorite people in the world, so for that reason, i absolutely love it.

and once again, i was inspired by this artist's paintings.

  1. I LOVE it!!!! I want one of my little (ok, we might not be so little anymore) family! I will pay money.....or in hugs.....or in soup :)

  2. seriously amazing. i kinda' want to have you do one for me. of my little family of course! are you taking orders?!!!
you've got mad talent, girl. don't let anyone tell you other wise.

  3. I love it!!! You are very very talented!

  4. It's so wonderful! I would love one of these for our home. You're s talented cuz!

  5. I'm pretty sure yours is a lot better than the artist you were inspired by! GREAT JOB!

  6. Wow Jess! Looks like AP art paid off?? No really, this is so GOOD! I love it 'cause even though they don't have faces, they really look like you guys- I must say, you've got talent!! love it!

  7. I'm not sure if I count as a "we've already talked" person or not. :) But I was sitting here in my house today looking at a place on the wall, an empty frame even, that started screaming to be filled with a painting.

And, I've tried to like the lady's painting that you were inspired by, but, truth be told, I prefer yours.

I don't want to pressure you. Especially with the holidays banging down the door.

But.....I thought you should know that the empty frame on my wall is now a placeholder for a painting by you of my family someday, sometime, when your life calms and when I round up the crazies I live with to stand together in front of a camera to get a picture to you.

    I love it that much.

thank you for your shout outs!
