Further Proof...

For all 7 of you who read this post about that one time I almost burned down my kitchen, what I have here is further proof that wax paper is, indeed, intended to line baking sheets and go in the oven, and is not supposed to start on fire.

My Mom laughed when she read that post because, "Jess! You are thinking of something else! Wax paper does not go in the oven!"

Well then why, dear Mother, does it say this on the box?

No wonder I got confused!

  1. Interesting... I would like further instructions on how to use it so that it doesn't start on fire... keep us posted! Maybe you should write the company and tell them to explain! :)

  4. That really is so funny. I swear I've read many recipes that say to either "spray with grease" or "line with wax paper". I've never had wax paper, so, I've never tried it- but that is too funny that it almost burned your house down. I really am sorry about that, I would have done the same thing...

  5. are you sure you put the oven on bake? maybe it was on broil and that's why it caught fire...? JK I ACTUALLY HAVE NO IDEA BUT SOMETIMES LIKE TO PRETEND LIKE I KNOW A THING OR TWO. :)

  6. Sorry Jess but wax paper should only be used in the microwave and not in your regular oven. It is paper and will burn in the oven. You are maybe thinking of silpat sheets that can be used in your regular oven. They are almost like a thin sheet of rubber.
