from Husband to Wife & Wife to Husband:
G to J:
"I haven't put on chapstick since yesterday morning-before work. Almost 3o hours and I am dying, but I have to break this addiction."
J to G:
"30 hours with no chapstick? Wow. That is amazing. Good luck."
J to G: (later)
"How's operation chapstick going?"
G to J:
"It's hard! I almost relapsed! I have one in my pocket that is tempting me."
J to G:
"Flush it down the toilet!! That's like crack in your pocket! Be strong."
You laugh, but I am not even kidding you, this is going to be a HUGE challenge for G. He is absolutely addicted to chapstick, worse than anyone I have ever met.
He never goes anywhere without a stick.
We will see how it goes, but I predict he relapses before dinner tonight (bless his heart).
Wish him luck.
Chapstick is good for you, for your lips, and for those who have to kiss your lips. It makes your lips soft and supple, not cracked and scratchy. What's the big deal?
ReplyDeleteThis cracked me up! (no pun intended.. He he he)
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize Greg had such a strong addiction!
He should make a Relapse Prevention Plan so he is prepared when he has those urges.. it works great for the people I work with who are addicted to crack! (he he he)
Your post gave me the urge to pull out my chapstick and apply...maybe I have an addiction too??!! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's funny because T is the same way, he doesn't leave the house without his chapstick, but I never considered it an addiction. Keep us posted on his progress. Is he going to quit entirely? I don't know anyone who doesn't use it every once in a while.
ReplyDeletewhy oh why is he trying to quit? I think that would just be incredibly unfortunate for you....no?
ReplyDeleteChapstick once or twice a day is normal & healthy, but chapstick every hour is too much.
ReplyDeleteAnd it was all G's idea to cut back (seriously, I didn't even suggest it). He says he doesn't like the idea of "knowing that he needs it to function".
Um, yes. You shouldn't need it that badly.
And also, did you know that if you use it enough, your body will start to rely on the moisture it receives from the chapstick & it will slow down the production of it's own lipids? True Story. You truly can become ADDICTED!
I told him he should try to cut back to 2 or 3 times a day...a healthy amount.
And I kissed him today & those suckers are still baby smooth. That G, I'm telling you, softest lips & hands you have ever felt. (I hope he doesn't read this, he will kill me).
This is big! How's he doing - did he crack? Tell him that I'm asking if now he could just break the habit of adjusting himself in public, that would be great :)
ReplyDeleteLove ya!!!
Oh, and I thought of you yesterday at the grocery store. I was in line at the checkout and a smell hit me like a ton of bricks - so strongly that I whipped around because I thought this smelly person was inches away from me. Some guy behind me, far enough where I shouldn't be able to smell him, stunk like no tomorrow. Like when you leave something wet for too long and then just dry it anyway without rewashing it. It was nasty, and I laughed as I thought about you!
